Watch the self life on this stuff. It's an issue for long term storage.

Especially with tetracycline family antibiotics - they become toxic as they break down in storage. Not good.

Thanks for posting, phideaux. Looks like a great resource to have bookmarked. I was about to suggest having a look at the local feed store for meds for chicken or other livestock, but this is the real deal. Some of these meds are no more costly to buy outright from 4 corners than the prescrips cost me here with my insurance co-pay!

If you are going to play doctor take a few minutes to learn what different antibiotics are used for.

Google empiric antibiotic coverage.

This is the reference that Doc's keep in their coat pocket during training:

Has discussion on antibiotic usage for non medical persons:

Can you say yellow teeth and failed immune system?

Get some oil of oregano instead. It won't kill your gut bacteria.

It sounds like you've got a very brave doctor (or one you can trust). Most would pull a CYA move & insist that you take only "safe" meds labeled for sale to us human types.

I cant speak for fish medicine but in many cases the meds used at the Vet clinic were the same as humans. They were just dosed different, especially for cats.

About Erythromycin.. It has great potential to cause you a very miserable gut.
Always take probiotics when you take an antibiotic.

P.S. you can find some reviews on Amazon...

I have to call BS. That doctor could have his license pulled. If nothing else, the AMA and Eli Lilly or whoever makes regular anitbiotics would be after him.

Fish are not mammals. Antibiotics for fish are manufactured to a different standard than human antibiotics. Generic antibiotics for humans are dirt cheap. Why screw around with fish food?

I think I might buy some dog meds from 4 Corners. You said they have always been smooth to deal with. That is good to know.

Spent about an hour reading around the internet about those fish pills for antibiotics. They seem to be 100% the real deal. Just bought some Ampicillin, Amoxocillin, Cephalexin and some Penicillin just to have on hand. All for about $70.
